For Immediate Release: West-Cal Event Center Officially Opens July 1, 2014

For Immediate Release:

The West Calcasieu Community Center Authority would like to announce that the new multipurpose Event Center currently under construction is scheduled for completion early next summer and will officially open its doors to the general public on July 1, 2014.

The new facility—conveniently located off Interstate 10 in Sulphur, Louisiana—is currently entering its second year of construction and when complete will compliment the West-Cal Arena multipurpose equestrian facility located on the same property.

The new West-Cal Events Center will offer a wide variety of event options from conventions and trade shows, receptions and Mardi Gras balls, to training seminars and other social gatherings. The facility will have a total of four smaller meeting rooms that can be used individually or in conjunction with one another, as well aa a 14,000 square foot main ballroom capable of being divided into three usable rooms.

With the ability of hosting multiple caterers, the new West-Cal Events Center will boast a full service catering kitchen equipped with walk in coolers and freezer. The latest high definition audio and visual technology will be prevalent throughout the building and a fired brick mural will offer guest an informative cultural history of the West Calcasieu area.

The West Calcasieu Events Center is the second phase of the Community Center Authorities' master plan to provide affordable event, meeting and equestrian space to the local area while enhancing the quality of life for the citizens of Southwest Louisiana.
